The guests on board our floating premium hotels are all different. That is why we work out an equally diverse excursion program for each of our fascinating routes. Regardless of whether you are a connoisseur, nature lover or art enthusiast - our selection of experiences will open up new perspectives for you on every trip.With your travel documents, you will receive a form with an overview of all the excursions offered to match your travel route. You can find a comprehensive description online at www.viva-cruises.com. There will also be a daily excursion information event on board, where you can get detailed advice. You can register your desired shore excursions with VIVA Cruises before you start your journey.You can also register for the excursions on board, but we cannot guarantee that there will still be sufficient capacities. You will find the program in your cabin on the day of embarkation. Bookings made will be charged to your on-board account.

On all river cruises with VIVA Cruises, you can fully enjoy our VIVA All-Inclusive concept. Viva All-Inclusive

There is air conditioning on all VIVA ships. The air conditioning in your cabin is individually adjustable and can also be used as a heater. When the balcony door is open, the system in the cabin is automatically switched off.

Air Conditioning

For reasons of space, bicycles can only be taken on board on request and not on all ships. On some ships we have bicycles with us, which you can borrow free of charge at the reception, depending on availability. The team on board will also be happy to assist you with renting bicycles on site.

Bicycles

We want our guests to feel comfortable on board and live the casual lifestyle on board. This also applies to the cloakroom: the dress code is casual - comfortable during the day and on excursions and sporty and elegant in the evening. We generally recommend sturdy shoes for shore excursions.

Clothing

On all VIVA Cruises river cruises, we not only offer you an extensive breakfast buffet and multi-course gourmet menus, but also individual care for all common food allergies or intolerances. If you have not registered before the trip, please notify the reception on the day of arrival so that the kitchen on board can optimally adapt to your needs.

Diet foods & food allergies

A doctor is not on board, as the nearest town can be reached quickly in an emergency. First aid can be provided on all VIVA Cruises ships in an emergency.

Medical Facilities

WiFi is included in the all-inclusive package on all VIVA ships. Please note that there may be restrictions on the use of the Internet depending on the area of travel.

Wi-Fi

There are life jackets in your cabin or stored by the wheelhouse on the sun deck. You will receive information about this in the rescue exercise on the day of embarkation. Participation in this exercise is mandatory for every guest.

Life Jackets

In general, our ships are not completely barrier-free and therefore only suitable to a limited extent for guests who are solely dependent on a wheelchair. You will find stairs and narrow doors and corridors. In addition, not all landing stages are designed to be handicapped accessible on river trips, and entry via the mostly narrow gangways is not always at ground level. Some of our ships have lifts to make the reception and restaurant easy to reach. However, it should be possible to take some steps without a wheelchair. We generally recommend booking with an accompanying person, as there is no special support staff available on board.

People in need and guests with reduced mobility

For safety reasons, smoking is not permitted on board in the entire interior or in the cabins of our ships, but only permitted on the outside decks. Please do not throw cigarettes overboard, use the ashtrays provided. We also ask that you show consideration for non-smokers.

Frankfurt

Connected to the Danube via the Main-Danube Canal, Frankfurt is one of the most unique cities in Germany. After all, it is the only city with a skyline of skyscrapers. A view of the metropolis from the observation deck of the MAIN TOWER is a very special experience. However, Frankfurt is not only a very modern and busy city, but also has a lot of history to offer its visitors. For example, the Römer and the Paulskirche are among the most famous historical sights in Germany. And when it comes to art and culture, Frankfurt is also an absolute hotspot. With almost 40 museums and exhibition houses, the Frankfurt Museumsufer is one of the most important international museum locations..

Speyer

Speyer is a town located in southwest Germany situated beside the river Rhine. Originally founded by the Romans, it is one of the oldest settlements in Germany and is situated in the popular wine growing region of the Palatinate. A key attraction of Speyer is the Historical Museum of the Palatinate, which is one of the most celebrated culture-history museums in Germany. It features five permanent collections including Prehistory, Roman Times, Cathedral Treasury, Modern Era and Wine Museum. Not far from the museum, visitors will find the Imperial Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is considered the largest preserved Romanesque church in Europe. Originally constructed by Konrad II, this magnificent and looming building was intended to demonstrate the Lord’s religio-political claim to power against the papacy. Speyer has been producing wine since its Roman beginnings and wine tasting, festivals and events are popular all year round. The town is popular for outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling as well as guided walking tours of the town.

The 2000-year-old Speyer resembles a single open-air museum: Salian history at every turn. The cathedral city on the Rhine is proud of its favorable location in the heart of Europe. The many-towered silhouette of the mighty red sandstone cathedral towers over the city. Anyone visiting the cathedral should also descend the steps to the imperial crypt. The most important sights of the old imperial city are almost all located in the city center, which makes it possible to admire them during a nice walk through the city. Those who are tired of walking can stop in one of the countless restaurants and cafes.

Strasbourg

From the first minute, the French Strasbourg enchants with colorful half-timbered idyll, Wilhelminian splendor architecture,new trendy neighborhoods and exciting museums. Even a short visit has a long-term effect thanks to the many inspirations! In the picturesque district of La Petite France, the moment can be enjoyed perfectly with a tarte flambée, before the imposing cathedral with stained glass windows and archways invites you to travel back in time to the Gothic period. Those who are free from giddiness should definitely take the 332 steps up to the viewing platformhere to see the Vosges and the Black Forest in the distance.

Mainz

The capital of Rhineland-Palatinate Mainz is located directly on the Rhine. St. Martin's Cathedral, which is well worth seeing, is one of the special sights, as are numerous monuments and fountains. Spacious parks and green spaces invite you to take contemplative walks. A visit to the Electoral Palace should not be missed. Historic buildings bear witness to an eventful history, from the beginnings in Roman times 2000 years ago to the present day modernity. The Haus zum Stein in the city center is the oldest preserved Mainz residential building from the Middle Ages.
